Template:Infobox athlete/doc

Infobox athlete is WikiPartner's standard infobox for individual athletes and sportspeople, including footballers, cricketers, basketball players, tennis players, runners, swimmers, boxers, martial artists, racing drivers, and other notable competitors.

Use this template for individual people. Sports teams and clubs should use their own organization or sports-team infobox.

All parameters are optional. Add only information supported by reliable sources. Empty fields are automatically hidden.

Adding this template to an article also generates WikiPartner Person structured data with the person's sporting profession represented as an occupation. Team memberships, sports skills, physical measurements, education, awards, official website, and image may also be represented when suitable data is supplied.

Short usage

Structured data

WikiPartner represents an individual athlete as Schema.org Person.

The athlete's profession is represented through hasOccupation and Schema.org Occupation.

The supplied sport, discipline, and competitive events may be represented through the person's skills.

Current professional and national teams may be represented through memberOf using Schema.org SportsTeam. A separately supplied sports club may be represented through affiliation using SportsOrganization.

When height_cm or weight_kg is supplied, WikiPartner emits Schema.org QuantitativeValue data with the correct measurement unit.

Fields such as position, coach, jersey number, former teams, career record, ranking, medals, titles, records, and personal bests remain visible encyclopedic information rather than being forced into unrelated structured-data properties.
