Editors are instructed to write clearly and factually, use reliable sources when needed, and avoid advertising language, personal opinions, unsupported claims, and unnecessary promotion.[3]

WikiPartner also allows readers to suggest new article subjects. A suggestion may include the subject's name, information explaining why it may be suitable for coverage, useful sources, important facts, and relevant conflict-of-interest disclosures. Submitting a suggestion does not guarantee publication.[1]

Language editions

WikiPartner is designed as a multilingual encyclopedia project.

As of August 2026, the English edition was the language edition listed as live on the main WikiPartner portal.[2] It is available at:

Operation and technology

WikiPartner is built using MediaWiki, the open-source wiki software used by Wikipedia and numerous other wiki projects.

WikiPartner's editing documentation identifies MediaWiki wikitext as the markup system used for articles and provides instructions for headings, internal links, external links, references, images, and infoboxes.[3]

In addition to MediaWiki's standard functionality, WikiPartner uses custom design and editorial components for its article presentation, publishing workflow, editorial review, and structured-data implementation.

Licensing and content reuse

Unless otherwise stated, WikiPartner textual content is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).[7]

Under the license, WikiPartner text may generally be copied, redistributed, adapted, and reused, including for commercial purposes, provided that the applicable attribution and ShareAlike requirements are followed.[7]

The license covering WikiPartner text does not automatically apply to every image, logo, photograph, document, quotation, or other media file. Individual files may have separate copyright or licensing conditions, and users are advised to check the relevant file-description page before reuse.[7]

WikiPartner's copyright policy also states that contributors should generally summarize copyrighted sources in their own words rather than copying text from news publications, company websites, books, research papers, other encyclopedias, blogs, press releases, or commercial databases unless the material can legally be reused.[7]

Page revision histories may be used to identify contributors who created or modified collaboratively written text.[7]

DataPartner

DataPartner is a related structured-data project developed alongside WikiPartner.

WikiPartner is designed primarily around human-readable encyclopedia articles, while DataPartner is intended to organize structured information about entities such as people, companies, organizations, places, products, and other subjects.

The projects are intended to provide related forms of knowledge: WikiPartner for encyclopedia-style articles and DataPartner for structured entity data.
